Bladder Infection can = symptoms of Dementia.

Did you know a bladder infection or UTI, can  sometimes cause symptoms of dementia? Well they do. If your senior loved one is ‘normal’ one day and then a few days later they are acting fuzzy or really as if they are lost, Altered Level of Consciousness,  then they could be developing a UTI.  Make an appointment with their Primary Care Physician to get a urinalysis and a blood test right away.  It takes days for them to culture, but better safe than sorry. Ask the doctor for an antibiotic to start right away just in case.  Don’t wait until the UA results to come back, as it might get worse.  You have a right to ask for these things, be an advocate for your loved one.
