Transferring a Senior
When transferring a senior from bed to chair, or walking with someone who could be classified as a fall risk, you should always use a Gait Belt. A Gait Belt wraps around the seniors waist and allows you to hold on to them and guide them to where they need to go while assisting.
Gait Belts prevent falls because you have contact with them constantly. They are easy to put on and take off. They help prevent bruising of the arms, which is mistakenly where caregivers tend to grab when helping to move the senior. – askjaynie.com
